Under TRANSCAN-2 was announced, the January 15, 2015, Joint Call entitled: Translational research on human tumour heterogeneity to understand and overcome recurrence and resistance to therapy ". It will be co-funded research projects between the States which will participate in the tender, Austria, Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey. Objective and Themes
The purpose of the call is to promote an international cooperative approach between scientific groups in demanding areas of translational cancer research by avoiding duplication of effort and ensure efficient use of available resources.
The subject areas of the call that have been decided jointly by the participating states are as follows:
- Development and validation of methods to investigate human tumour heterogeneity.
- Studies on human tumour heterogeneity in order to guide therapeutic intervention and identify new therapeutic targets
- Development of new precision therapeutic strategies that may prevent human tumour recurrence or resistance to therapy by counteracting tumour heterogeneity
The projects approved will be up to 36 months.
The deadline for submission of proposals will be March 16, 2015.
The Greek member states consortia whose proposals will be approved,will be funded by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology through the Operational Programme "Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship, Innovation" (Restart), which is one of the five sectoral operational programs of Corporate Pact Instrument (new NSRF) for the period 2014-2020. Participation of GSRT notice will amount to EUR 500,000.00. The above amount will be divided into five proposals, ie. 100,000 per proposal with Greek participation.
